And worst of all, you might be talked down to and misunderstood by the very people that are supposed to help. This is what I experienced when I immigrated from Colombia to New Zealand. So, I decided to become the immigration agent I wished I had. That’s my mission, both professionally and personally. Compassionate and non-judgmental, I’ve helped hundreds of people navigate the complex NZl immigration process. It isn’t all about ticking the right boxes, although my legal knowledge and my 16 years’ experience ensures no detail is missed. I allow my clients to really see themselves living the Kiwi lifestyle, to believe in it. Run by an inspiring female Prime Minister, New Zealand is the land of opportunity for big-thinkers, especially for entrepreneurial women like myself. I’ve always had a bias for action – I even ran my own jewelry business when I was a child. Today, I encourage women from all corners of the globe to get out and influence change here in New Zealand. That’s what energizes me to be active politically: my desire to influence change, build a legacy, and support others in their efforts to serve their communities. I’ve worked alongside diverse professionals to contribute to the improvement of New Zealand’s immigration industry. Policy is big picture. My business, VisaPlex, is about making a difference in the lives of individuals. When I immigrated, I was overwhelmed and confused by the process – not to mention extremely pregnant. I didn't feel in control of my future. All I needed was one person to stand up for me, to have my back. I have dedicated my career to becoming that person.
